Established in 2014, Friends of Asia Hong Kong is a registered charity that seeks to provide resources, care and opportunities to those in need and help better their lives physically, mentally and spiritually. Our mission is to inspire and benefit the local community through the development of events and programs that centers around sports, health and recreation which in turn will raise the public’s awareness to the importance of healthy living and illness prevention. Together with the efforts of generous donors and volunteers, we hope to bring smiles, joy and well-being to those less fortunate in our community.
Partnering with major sports events as our fundraising platforms, we have funded many non-profit-making sports and wellness programs for underprivileged children, youth, women and families in Hong Kong. With these programs, we aim to encourage and empower people to live longer and healthier lives and nurture our youths to build a community that is rich in values and positive energy.
We have been the charity partner of important sports events such as the UBS Hong Kong Open, Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open and EFG Hong Kong Ladies Open. Since 2014, proceeds raised and matched by Friends of Asia have exceeded HK$5 million and have been used to fund golf, tennis and other sports programs for underprivileged children and youth, behavioural treatment for autistic children, anxiety relief programs for hospitalized children, cancer research and treatment for underprivileged children, as well as health and wellness programs for children and youth in Sham Shui Po.
Together we work with our affiliated organisations including the Golf BC Group that runs the Golf BC Championship in Kelowna, Canada and raises funds for the BC Cancer Foundation and Wailea Maui Hawaii, venue host of Sony Open and proud supporter of Friends of Hawaii Charities.
